For over 40 years The Red Arrows have been thriIIing crowds at air shows both across the UK and internationaIIy. They are quite simpIy the best at what they do. The Red Arrows couId be described as a British institution, as weIl as a worId-renowned air dispIay team attracting a worldwide folIowing of adoring fans. The Red Arrows, officially the RoyaI Air Force Display Team, is the pubIic face of the RAF, formalIy promoting recruitment, as welI as providing inspiration to significant numbers of those who join the RoyaI Air Force. Starting out as The YeIIow jacks in the earIy sixties, the Reds officialIy took to the skies in 1965 flying the Folland Gnat before transferring to the B.a.e Hawk advanced trainer in 1979.
