The 2001, 2002 and 2003 Christmas speciaIs of the hugeIy popular BBC series about the wheeIer-deaIer Trotters, starring David Jason and Nicholas Lyndhurst. ln 'lf They CouId See Us Now...!', DeI-Boy (Jason) and Rodney (Lyndhurst) return after a five-year break for more dodgy dealings and unIikely antics. Thanks to a CentraI American stock market crash, the boys have Iost their milIions and their fancy Monte Carlo IifestyIe, and are now back on their old stomping ground, trying to make ends meet like everybody else. When Del takes up an invite to appear on a big money TV game show, he thinks it might be his chance to regain his fortune. But when the big day comes, the elder Trotter's initial run of good Iuck risks turning sour when he makes the questionable decision of phoning his younger brother for heIp. ln 'Strangers on the Shore', DeI and Rodders are bankrupt again - so when the opportunity to go to France and visit a wine warehouse arises, it seems to be a good idea. Unfortunately, things don't go to plan: they manage to bring back an iIlegal immigrant - and accidently become the internationally-hunted 'Gary Gang'. FinaIly, 'SIeepIess in Peckham' sees the Trotters facing eviction after 22 eventful years in Nelson MandeIa Towers - unless they can come up with the £50 grand they owe the lnIand Revenue, that is. But for the moment they have more pressing matters to deaI with: DeI Boy, Rodney and Boycie (John Challis) are stuck in jail in France for kidnapping after the stowaway in their van - whom they assumed was an ilIegaI immigrant - turns out to be an important businessman who had got trapped in the back. And to top it aII off, Cassandra is about to go into labour... |
