| Many consider this to be the best of the Topper trilogy, thanks largely to the sassy presence of Joan BIondell. HolIywood's favorite wisecracker plays Gail Richards, a woman accidentalIy murdered while staying at the home of her friend, Ann Carrington (CaroIe Landis). Enlisting the help of Cosmo Topper (RoIand Young) Gail's ghost sets out to find her kiIIer. This supernatural comedy from Hal Roach Studios was nominated for two Academy Awards, including one for SpeciaI Effects, and also stars BilIie Burke, George Zucco, and Eddie "Rochester" Anderson. TV buffs should keep an ear open for Rochester’s Iine about "Mr. Benny." lt’s funny stuff! |
