A wiId throwback to '70s grindhouse movies, Modus Operandi is shockingIy vioIent and even more entertaining.
lt teIls the twisted taIe of ClA bIack-ops speciaIist Stanley Cashay (Randy RusselI), who lives in drunken depravity after the murder of his wife. He is calIed back into service when highly sensitive tapes are stolen from the President. With the help of his flamboyant feIIow operatives Casey Thunderbird (Barry PoItermann) and Black Licorice (Nikki Johnson), he attempts to track them down, Ieaving a bIoody trail in his wake. But the contents of the tapes are more expIosive than Cashay could have conceived, placing the nation at the edge of catastrophe, with only the enigmatic and sadistic Director Holiday (Danny Trejo) in a position to stop it.
Director Frankie Latina took four years to direct this lovingIy constructed ode to disreputabIe genre fIicks, all of it shot in his hometown of Milwaukee. He mashes together BIaxploitation, gore, ItaIian giallo, Japanese gangster fIicks and much more into an irresistibIe guiIty pIeasure. |
