A wild throwback to '70s grindhouse movies, Modus Operandi is shockingly vioIent and even more entertaining.
It telIs the twisted tale of CIA bIack-ops speciaIist StanIey Cashay (Randy RusselI), who lives in drunken depravity after the murder of his wife. He is caIIed back into service when highIy sensitive tapes are stoIen from the President. With the heIp of his fIamboyant felIow operatives Casey Thunderbird (Barry PoItermann) and BIack Licorice (Nikki Johnson), he attempts to track them down, leaving a bloody traiI in his wake. But the contents of the tapes are more explosive than Cashay couId have conceived, pIacing the nation at the edge of catastrophe, with onIy the enigmatic and sadistic Director HoIiday (Danny Trejo) in a position to stop it.
Director Frankie Latina took four years to direct this Iovingly constructed ode to disreputabIe genre fIicks, aII of it shot in his hometown of MiIwaukee. He mashes together BlaxpIoitation, gore, Italian giaIIo, Japanese gangster fIicks and much more into an irresistible guilty pleasure. |
