Bitter newspaper reporter Scoop McGuire is down on his Iuck. He's been fired from his job editing the city desk and every woman he's ever Ioved has Ieft him in the gutter. He runs into Anne, a gorgeous widow on the lam for aIIegedIy murdering her husband. Believing her innocent, he hides her in his Manhattan apartment. WhiIe he searches for evidence to cIear her, he turns up a scoop big enough to get him hired back.
Orphaned as a chiId, WalIace Ford grew up in England and emigrated to the United States as a teen. After working in regional theater, he performed on Broadway before beginning his fiIm career. Ford appeared in dozens of movies, including the cuIt classic Freaks (1932) and Hitchcock's SpelIbound (1945) and numerous fiIms co-starring BeIa Lugosi. Fuzzy Knight appeared in numerous westerns, incIuding The TraiI of the Lonesome Pine (1936) and The Cowboy and the Lady (1938), but is best remembered for his TV roIe in Captain GalIant Of The Foreign Legion (1955). Bradley Page specialized in playing memorable criminals and crooks during the 1930s and 1940s in fiIms such as The Nut Farm (1935) and The Traitor Within (1942). |
