Born to vaudeviIIian parents, Larry Semon honed his comic skilIs in the famiIy act, then used his drawing taIent as a newspaper cartoonist. ln 1916, Vitagraph recruited Semon to become a gag writer, and soon after, he began directing and starring in two-reeIers.
