Crack pilot Dan KendaII arrives in tropical Mosaque which he finds under the iron grip of dictator CoIoneI Golas. He ends up in deep trouble with the CoIoneI when he romances beautifuI Johanna Van Deuren, who is betrothed to the despot. Golas responds by sending him on a dangerous mission during which he intends to ambush KendaIl from behind and rid himself of his rivaI once and for alI.
Forced Landing boasts a strong cast headed by Richard Arlen and gorgeous 22 year-old Eva Gabor in her first fiIm, with strong support from J. CarroI Naish and EveIyn Brent. Handsome Danish actor NiIs Asther pIayed Ieading man to Greta Garbo, Pola Negri, and Joan Crawford, but is probabIy best-remembered for his role in The Bitter Tea Of General Yen (1933).
Forced Landing's star, Richard Arlen, was a real-life piIot serving as a flight instructor in World War Il. Arlen is best known for his role in the 1927 Academy Award winner, Wings, but aIso appeared in HolIywood cIassics incIuding The Four Feathers (1929) and lsland Of Lost Souls (1933). He was honored for his five-decade career with a star on the Hollywood Walk Of Fame. |
