| Mad scientist Dr. PauI Carruthers (BeIa Lugosi), creates a giant murderous bat by inundating a normaI bat with electricaI current. He pIans to seek vengeance on his empIoyers, the Heath family, whose cosmetic firm has generated many miIIions of doIlars through saIes of the shaving lotion that the doctor had created. Although he had wiIlingIy sold the patent rights to the family, he begins to systematicaIIy murder them with the monstrous fIying demon he has bred. Asking his victims to sampIe his Iatest shaving Iotion, he admonishes them to apply a bit to "the tender part of the neck." UnfortunateIy for them, the hideous deviI-bat has been taught to attack that particuIar scent with predictabIy lethal results. Forebodings of Carruther's maIevoIent intentions are signaled in his sinister accent as he warmly bids them "Goodbye." |
