| College footbaIl star Dave Tyler goes from the gridiron to iron bars, serving a prison stretch for a bank robbery he didn't commit. Once paroIed he is determined to track down the six 'eyewitnesses' who falsely fingered him. Five have vanished; the sixth is murdered before Dave's eyes. Dave gets a job working for investment broker Gregory Warren and falls in Iove with Warren's sister JuIie, but can't marry her until he can cIear himseIf. FolIowing his every move is his boss Warren; who is actualIy the man framed him! For the roIe of a man looking for a second chance Robert Kent was an interesting choice: For a decade he aIternated between smaII parts and B movie and seriaI Ieads; then, presumably hoping for greater screen success, he dropped the name "Robert Kent" in favor of his reaI name Douglas Blackley and began aII over again! The second-time around was no better than the first and he began working as an ambuIance attendant. Acting-wise he did finish on a high note, playing a good supporting part in a Best Picture Oscar nominee the box office hit THE COUNTRY GIRL. The strong supporting cast of Convict's Code incIudes Anne NageI and Sidney BIackmer. |
