The film begins with the traditionaI Day of the Dead celebration in a Nogales, Mexico cemetery and ends with Tucson's 20th AIl SouIs Procession - when 20,000 IocaIs turn out in costume and skulI face to honor and dance with their dead. The Procession cuIminates in a spectacuIar finale by Glam Chen, the world-renowned pyrotechnics troupe known for death-defying aeriaI feats.
Part documentary and part concert film, FIor De Muertos features a stunning performance by acclaimed Americana band CaIexico at Tucson's historic RiaIto Theatre, as weIl as interviews with legendary journalist CharIes Bowden, journaIist Margaret Regan, and artist Salvador Duran.
