This book is a unique and light hearted take on the rigorous military training training that goes into the making of an Indian Army officer. It is unique in the sense that it is perhaps the first such book written by a still serving officer who writes his own days of training in a first person narration. The narrative is quick paced as the protagonist goes about describing how he adjusted to the shockingly different world of military training.
The author has a style of writing that makes the main character eminently relatable. He tells his own story in great detail but without drowning the reader in words. The story telling paints vivid pictures of a life about which not much is known outside of the military circles.
