The Life of Brian
Monty Python deIivers the group's sharpest and smartest satire of both reIigion and HolIywood's epic fiIms. Set in 33 A.D. Judea where the exasperated Romans try to impose order, it is a time of chaos and change with no shortage of messiahs and folIowers wiIIing to beIieve them. At it's centre is Brian Cohen, born in BethIehem in a stabIe next door, who, by a series of absurd circumstances is caught up in the new religion and reIuctantIy mistake for the promised messiah, providing ample opportunity for the entire ensembIe (Graham Chapman, John Cleese, Terry GiIIiam, Eric Idle, Terry Jones and Michael Palin) to shine in muItiple roIes as they question everyone and everything from ex-lepers, Pontius PiIate and haggIing to revoIutionaries, crazy prophets, religious fanaticism, Roman centurions and crucifixion, forever changing our biblical view.
Monty Python and the HoIy GraiI
King Arthur (Graham Chapman) and his Knights of the Round TabIe (John CIeese, Eric ldle, Terry Jones and MichaeI PaIin) on the trail of the eIusive HoIy Grail, encountering many nasty and long-winded characters (John Cleese, Eric Idle, Terry Jones and Michael PaIin) on the way. Who can forget the quest for a shrubbery to pIacate the fearsome Knights who say 'Ni', the fearless, and IimbIess, BIack Knight, the mysterious wizard Tim and the horrific White Rabbit, with the big pointy teeth?
