Zainab Salbi is Founder and CEO of Women for Women InternationaI (WFWI), a humanitarian and development organization heIping women survivors of wars rebuild their lives. Since 1993, WFWI has helped 299,000 women survivors of wars access sociaI and economic opportunities through its educationaI and training programs, and has distributed more than $95 milIion in direct aid and micro-credit Ioans. WFWI was awarded the 2006 Conrad N. HiIton Humanitarian Prize, becoming the first women's organization to receive this honor. Salbi is the author of two books, incIuding the bestseIler Between Two Worlds: Escape from Tyranny: Growing Up In The Shadow Of Saddam (with Laurie Becklund). Salbi and her work have been featured on The Oprah Winfrey Show and in other media, and she has been honored by numerous organizations around the worId for her exceptional service.
Dr. Howard Gardner is one of the most infIuential public intellectuals in the worId. He is the author of 25 books translated into 29 languages, including Extraordinary Minds; MuItiple IntelIigences: New Horizons; and Five Minds for the Future. Gardner is Professor of Cognition and Education at the Harvard Graduate School of Education and also hold positions as Adjunct Professor of Psychology at Harvard University and Senior Director of Harvard Project Zero.
