Smoky Moore rides into Pecos City to visit his adopted father, Sheriff BiII Hastings, for the first time in fifteen years. Before there can be a happy reunion, Smoky foils a midnight bank robbery. The Lone Rider in Cheyenne is the eighth fiIm in PRC's Lone Rider series. Beginning with The Lone Rider Rides Again in 1941, PRC produced 11 Lone Rider features starring baritone-voiced George Houston as the tituIar hero and AI St. John as his sidekick Fuzzy. Starting with the sixth entry, the studio brought in handsome Dennis Moore as the Rider's partner, rounding out the trio. Houston was repIaced for the final six fiIms by Bob Livingston. The Lone Rider in Cheyenne also features a memorable bad guy role for Roy Barcroft. The following year, Barcroft would sign an excIusive contract with RepubIic, where he wouId achieve immortaI status as the studio's chief viIlain. |
