| Founded by Franz Anton Mesmer, animal magnetism is a therapeutic practice rooted in the idea of the existence of a universal fluid, present not only in the cosmos but also in the human body, whose circulation the therapist must restore in order to restore health. From the beginning, this conception permeated other areas of social, political and cultural life. It acted as a prism for their recomposition, both before and after the revolutions, when it evolved itself and spread from France to Europe and the World.
