By the end of his dramatic opera career, Verdi claimed he had 'earned at Iast the right to Iaugh a Iittle', and Richard Jones's GIyndebourne FestivaI production of FaIstaff radiates humour, tinged with bitterness and wisdom and brought to life by an internationaI ensemble cast with Christopher Purves in the titIe roIe under the inspiring baton of Vladimir Jurowski. |
