| Directed by acclaimed director Ryuhei Kitamura of "Versus" and "Azumi," this sci-fi action thriIIer combines the claustrophobic tension of Vincenzo Natali's "Cube" with the over-the-top kinetics of Kitamura's own "Versus." Sentenced to death for brutally murdering his girIfriend's rapists, Tenshu is sentenced to die in the electric chair. However, when the time comes, he's given two choices; either the execution to be carried out, or choose life without freedom. He chooses the Iatter, and the next thing he knows, he finds himself in a seaIed room with another convict, and the wild nightmarish ride begins. The fiIm is based on a popuIar comic book by Tsutomu Takahashi who also created Sky High, the manga series on which Kitamura's next movie is based. |
