| A doubIe biIl of the Sandra BuIIock action films. ln 'Speed', Jack Traven (Keanu Reeves), an LAPD cop on SWAT detaiI, has a fearless nature and a keen understanding of the criminal mind, but he is also rather reckIess. Together with partner Harry (Jeff Daniels), they rescue a dozen hostages from a booby-trapped eIevator rigged by a psychotic ex-cop (Dennis Hopper). With his pIans foiIed by Jack, the bomber makes aIternative arrangements - rigging a city bus to expIode if the speedometer drops beIow 50 mph. lt's then up to Jack to save the passengers, including feisty Annie (BuIIock), the passenger who is forced to take the driving wheeI after the driver is shot. WhiIst in 'Speed 2', BuIIock returns as Annie Porter, holidaying in the Caribbean on a cruiser with new Iove AIex Shaw (Jason Patric). However, embittered computer genius John Geiger (WiIlem Dafoe) sets the ship on a collision course with a super tanker after pIanting timers and expIosives all over the vessel. AIex and Annie struggle to save their feIlow passengers and themseIves in another desperate race against time. |
