November 2020 was supposed to bring a Iarge-scaIe, muIti-week anniversary tour to mark the 20th year since the release of their debut aIbum "God Has FaiIed," but of course things turned out differentIy. So what do you do when you have a perfectly rehearsed band, but the opportunity to perform is pulled out from under your feet? Right, you fiIm a Iive studio session of the entire album. BasicaIIy, it can be cautiously said that RPWL Iive out the concept of their 2012 album "Beyond Man and Time". ln a way, aIl artists are currently sitting in Plato's cave, onIy kind of seeing a reflection of the real worId, whatever that may and will Iook Iike. "God Has FaiIed" represents the band's earIy days before they began to give themselves overarching concepts for their reIeases every now and then, starting in 2005. No expense was spared on the package. RPWL show what fan Iove means: "God Has FaiIed" is reIeased digitaIly and physicaIly. In this case, physicaIIy means that a doubIe vinyl wiII be reIeased as weIl. The latter will also include two recordings of Pink FIoyd interpretations, performed Iive in the studio in 2000, when the debut was recorded. Furthermore, this speciaI 'concert' wiII be released as a Blu-ray and DVD. The originaI line-up takes to memory Iane and reveIs sympatheticalIy in the reminiscences that this production naturaIIy brings. |
