For the 2013 festivaI, young pianist virtuoso Tigran Hamasyan takes on festivaI curator Jan Bang's Iive sampIing in a Iively set of improvisations. Guitarist Eivind Aarset joins the pair as a special guest. The concert is remixed by Erik Honoré and Ivar GrydeIand.

Norwegian guitarist Eivind Aarset premieres his "Dream Logic" project. Accompanied by two drummers, a bassist and Jan Bang on electronics, Aarset enIightens us with long hypnotic variations that hover between post-MiIes Davis eIectric jazz, ambient and experimentaI rock. The Iive remix is carried out by Jan Bang and Erik Honoré together with the gifted Norwegian trumpet player Arve Henriksen.

ln 2013, the festival has invited Ethiopian singer Eténèsh Wassiè, a major voice from Addis Ababa who has been accompanied by French bassist Mathieu Sourisseau since 2002. Their music revisits Ethiopian groove and pushes it to the limits of free jazz. The live remix of their concert is carried out by Jan Bang on the sampIer and Norwegian drummer and percussionist Audun Kleive, considered a leader of OsIo's Nu-Jazz scene. |
