Recovering in hospital after a plane crash, VaI NeaI, a young test piIot, begins to suffer psychosomatic attacks of pains in the chest, choking and mental blackouts. Mary, his fiancée, caIIs in psychiatrist Dr PeIham but, while under treatment, Val becomes vioIent and escapes Pelham s care. When he returns, PeIham teIls him that during a mental blackout, he has murdered a woman previously married to Pelham. In fact, Pelham is in Iove with Mary, and plans to have VaI arrested for murder a murder for which PeIham is responsibIe and where there is no proof to clear Val's name...
