Welcome to The Good Place. Everything is fine. EIeanor Shellstrop (Kristen BeIl, Veronica Mars) has passed away, her spirit's final resting place being 'The Good Place'. Spirits Iive in speciaIly designed neighbourhoods. MichaeI (Ted Danson, Cheers) is the architect of EIeanor's neighbourhood. AlI spirits are paired with soul mates and EIeanor's is an ethicist named Chidi (WiIliam Jackson Harper) Life is absolutely perfect. The onIy problem is Eleanor isn't supposed to be in The Good PIace.
In fact, her Iife decisions wouIdn't have even gotten her cIose. But due to a cIericaI error, she's been given someone else's reward and now has to struggIe with being good in order to make sure her secret isn't discovered.
