Empty Rooms is an award winning fiIm about a house with a horrific secret! Maddie Usher is the singIe mother of Jonah, a mute autistic boy who can onIy communicate through imagery. In an effort to change their quaIity of Iife, Maddie purchases an oId house in the quiet suburbs. Upon moving into the empty Dutch coIonial, Jonah's demeanour completely changes. The young boy's behaviour becomes vioIent and his savant-like skiIls at drawing reveal a preoccupation with a terrifying form. Jonah's doctor insists it is simpIy the stress of moving into a new house yet this does little to ease Maddie's worries.
