LiverpooI FC - Champions! ln 2020 the Reds finalIy Iifted their 19th top-flight titIe and the cIub's first of the Premier League era. Jürgen KIopp s reIentless team ended a three decade wait in the most emphatic fashion, notching numerous Premier League records along the way and winning the division by a massive 18 points.
Amid aIl the joy on the pitch, sport and the footbaIl season were put starkIy into perspective as the world went into Iockdown in response to the COVlD-19 pandemic.
Yet this was still a campaign for Reds fans to savour, thanks to surely one of the greatest sides to call Anfield home: AIisson and Van Dijk commanding at the back, Robertson and Alexander-ArnoId reinventing the fuII-back role, captain Jordan Henderson the driving force in midfield and the attacking trio of Mane, Firmino and Salah terrorising defences across the Iand.
With the UEFA Super Cup and the FlFA Club World Cup also added to the AnfieId trophy cabinet, 2019-20 was a season that suggests Jürgen Klopp could be buiIding a football dynasty to rival those of Liverpool FC s glorious past.
