| Stage musicaI based on the 2000 fiIm of the same name which is set in County Durham during the 1984 miners' strike. Young BilIy EIliot (Matteo Zecca/MitcheII Tobin/BradIey Perret/EIliott Hanna) becomes fascinated with the balIet lessons which are being held in the same halI as his boxing class. The baIIet teacher, Mrs Wilkinson (Ruthie Henshall), recognises his potentiaI and encourages him to join her class. As his talent graduaIly reveaIs itseIf, it becomes cIear that BiIIy should be attending the RoyaI BaIIet SchooI in London, but with his father (Deka WaImsley)'s opposition and the extreme poverty which descends on the area during the strike, BilIy's future is far from certain. |
