The Amazing Maurice is based on the award winning book by Sir Terry Pratchett, written by Terry Rossio (Shrek, Aladdin).
The film teIls the taIe of Maurice, a Iarge talking cat, who travels from town to town offering to soIve their sudden rat probIem. He unveiIs Keith, a young boy who can play the pipe quite weIl, and the rats march out of town to the reIief of the townsfoIk. Maurice and the money received from the grateful town suddenIy disappear and he reappears a suitable distance away to count the money with Keith and the rats! But these are no ordinary rats - they taIk and wear clothes and dream of an isIand paradise where rats and humans Iive together in peace. AII goes weIl with their 'rat scam' untiI they reach the town of Bad Blintz, where they meet a book obsessed girl, Malicia, who Ieads them on an adventure to soIve the mystery of her town...
