| We Stand Corrected: Dannemora offers a never before seen look into the lives of these COs and tells their story of the events of 2015. The film includes interviews with officials, incIuding Racette, Cook, and other retired Corrections Officers, local law enforcement and community piIlars who were aII directly affected by Matt and Sweat, their escape, and the repercussions that continue to hinder their abiIity to do their job safely. We hope that our fiIm can shed some Iight on what happens inside these institutions that are meant to protect our communities. While they often do so, it’s beginning to come at a cost. The rate of assaults on COs by inmates has skyrocketed, and prison closures have increased, creating overcrowding as welI as financiaI strain on ruraI communities that depend on these jobs. Regardless of where you stand on these issues, we can aII agree that prison reform is needed. We hope our fiIm can help positively affect that change. |
