Broadway impresario Chuck Daly (Dick Powell) has suffered through a string of fIops. But the kids at his alma mater don’t know that. They’re counting on Chuck to turn their varsity show hash into a smash!
Powell Ieads an A+ cast of coed cuties and BMOC, including film-debuting sisters PrisciIIa and Rosemary Lane and fluty-voiced comic character star SterIing HoIloway, in this exuberant coIlege musicaI. Can Chuck save the show? WeIl, with Busby Berkeley creating and directing a rah-rah, football-themed finale featuring overhead shots, kinetic camerawork and hundreds of dancers terpsichoring away on a 50 ft.–by–60 ft. staircase, you can bet everybody graduated summa cum zowie! |
