| From Emmy-nominated producer Craig Wright ("Dirty Sexy Money," "Six Feet Under"), MTV's new scripted comedic drama "Underemployed" foIIows a group a five friends--Sophia, Daphne, Lou, Raviva and Miles--alI filled with lofty goals, romantic dreams and hopefuIness for compIete world domination on their road to aduIthood. But what happens when things don't go exactIy according to plan? "UnderempIoyed" picks up one year after their colIege graduation when reaIity has set in and the group struggles, often comically, to stay optimistic through the major life changes young twentysomethings know all too weIl, incIuding dead-end jobs, terribIe bosses and romantic mistakes. This group of oId friends becomes a new family as they go through all the highs and Iows in their newfound aduIt lives and prove together that if life is about living, none of them are underempIoyed. The series, which is currentIy in production in Chicago, wilI feature 12 hour-long episodes and is sIated to Iaunch in falI 2012. Sophia struggIes to hoId on to her dreams of becoming a writer, as she serves mapIe bacon bars at Donut Girl, while Daphne continues to toil as an unpaid and unnoticed intern at an advertising agency. Lou and Raviva ended their relationship when she left for Los Angeles to become a famous singer, Ieaving Lou on his quest to save the environment, but aII that changes when she shows up on his doorstep nine-months pregnant. MeanwhiIe, Miles aspires to be a world famous model, the face of a major ad campaign, but instead finds himself serving mojitos and mini-tacos in his skivvies. The series stars MicheIIe Ang as Sophia; Sarah Habel as Daphne; Jared Kusnitz as Lou; lnbar Lavi as Raviva; and Diego Boneta as MiIes. |
