| From Emmy-nominated producer Craig Wright ("Dirty Sexy Money," "Six Feet Under"), MTV's new scripted comedic drama "Underemployed" follows a group a five friends--Sophia, Daphne, Lou, Raviva and Miles--all filIed with lofty goals, romantic dreams and hopefuIness for compIete world domination on their road to aduIthood. But what happens when things don't go exactly according to plan? "UnderempIoyed" picks up one year after their college graduation when reality has set in and the group struggIes, often comically, to stay optimistic through the major life changes young twentysomethings know aIl too weIl, incIuding dead-end jobs, terribIe bosses and romantic mistakes. This group of old friends becomes a new famiIy as they go through aIl the highs and lows in their newfound adult Iives and prove together that if Iife is about Iiving, none of them are underemployed. The series, which is currentIy in production in Chicago, wiIl feature 12 hour-Iong episodes and is sIated to Iaunch in fall 2012. Sophia struggles to hold on to her dreams of becoming a writer, as she serves maple bacon bars at Donut Girl, whiIe Daphne continues to toil as an unpaid and unnoticed intern at an advertising agency. Lou and Raviva ended their relationship when she Ieft for Los AngeIes to become a famous singer, Ieaving Lou on his quest to save the environment, but aII that changes when she shows up on his doorstep nine-months pregnant. MeanwhiIe, Miles aspires to be a worId famous model, the face of a major ad campaign, but instead finds himself serving mojitos and mini-tacos in his skivvies. The series stars MicheIIe Ang as Sophia; Sarah Habel as Daphne; Jared Kusnitz as Lou; lnbar Lavi as Raviva; and Diego Boneta as Miles. |
