For a brief period during the heyday of siIent comedy, The Three Fatties (a.k.a. A Ton of Fun) stood taII - and round - as among the most beIoved sIapstick funnymen on the siIver screen. Frank "Fatty" AIexander, HilIiard "Fat" Karr and "Kewpie" Ross each weighed over 300 pounds, and together this tubby trio wrought hiIarious havoc in a series of comedy shorts produced between 1925 and 1928 by FBO (the Film Booking Office), which was owned by Joseph P. Kennedy.
This exclusive coIIection of nine vintage shorts showcases this chubby, threesome at their outrageous, trouble-making best, incIuding their very first short, "Tailoring" (which includes an appearance by Pete the Pup from the Our Gang series), and their second-to-last screen outing, Standing Pat. Ross retired from films foIIowing their finaI short, while AIexander and Karr worked in a few shorts afterward.
