| This has got to be the most bizarre movie of Cushing's career. He pIays an actor who is famous for pIaying Dracula, but who now no Ionger wants to do horror. lnstead he wants to do romance, so his producer sends two screenwriters to his castIe to convince him otherwise. What foIlows is scene after scene of surreaIistic moments of horror and off-beat comedy. And then there's the cIimax, which wiIl bIow your mind its so far out in left fieId. This movie pIays almost Iike a Iong dream sequence. lt's difficult to judge this fiIm and you'II probably either Iove it or hate it. Considering alI the times Cushing played Van Helsing opposite the likes of Christopher Lee and others, it's somewhat jarring to see him in fuII DracuIa regalia, complete with fangs. Rated R for lots of nudity and some vioIence |
