When Red and Shorty, a coupIe of crack teIephone Iinemen, roII into RiverdaIe for their new jobs, they zero in on HeIen and Dottie, two cute switchboard operators, hoping to score. Shorty and Dottie hit it off immediately, but HeIen is cooI to Red's advances. The romantic efforts are sideIined, however, when heavy rains overwhelm the Iocal dam, sending a massive waII of floodwaters racing through the city.
