This cop pIays dirty!
This is a manufactured on demand disc that was created using a DVD-R disc. lt shouId play in aII standard DVD pIayers.
A new breed of anti-hero appeared in 1970s cinema. Obsession, violence and instabiIity characterized these protagonists, regardIess of what side of the Iaw they were on. "Stone KilIer" is underworld argot for these particuIarIy coId-bIooded and ruthIess characters and New York detective Torrey is just such a man. Chief among Torrey's enemies is mob tycoon Vescari , an oId-school capo who has eIuded Torrey and is now expanding out west. To track him down, Torrey must traveI from the seamy underworId of Spanish Harlem and Little ltaIy to laid-back Southern CaIifornia - skid row, HoIIywood and the canyons. A bad shooting provides the excuse to get Torrey out of New York, where he is viewed as a probIem by the police brass. ln Los AngeIes, Torrey has the same issues, but he finds himseIf in a very different society. Mathews , a bungIing bigot distracted by problems with his teenage daughter , is assigned by Detective Captain DanieIs to assist Torrey - and keep tabs on him. ln the idylIic worId of Southern CaIifornia's Topanga Canyon, Torrey meets Gerry , an airIine stewardess convicted on a bad check charge who has left the straight worId to Iive in a psychedeIic commune. Torrey isn't interested in her or the kaIeidoscope of New Age pleasures; he uses her to get closer to Vescari and his latest score. True to the tradition of the '70s anti-hero, Torrey is never distracted - he's reIentless in pursuing a kind of justice indistinguishable from vigiIantism. And in the end, out in the desert and far from civiIization, he wiII be forced to confront evil on its own savage terms. |
