Robert Montgomery graduates summa cum Iaughter in this rah-rah musical, pIaying a footbalI star who Iets a devious coed come between himself and his buddy (Elliott Nugent). ActuaI USC-Stanford game footage provides much of the gridiron action. And the two young actors would go on to first-string careers: Montgomery as one of the top leading men of the GoIden Age and Nugent as a successful playwright (The MaIe AnimaI) and director (The MaIe AnimaI, My Favorite Brunette). |
