As a companion to the historic 1956 teIecast of Peter Pan released on DVD last year, VAl is now offering the original 1955 telecast of Peter Pan for the first time on DVD. This performance mounted just days after the show closed on Broadway in 1955, was previously avaiIable only on Blu-ray, and stars the incomparabIe Mary Martin as Peter Pan. The entire production was staged, choreographed, and adapted by Jerome Robbins. Bonus features: An excIusive interview with HeIIer HaIIiday, daughter of Mary Martin and Richard HaIIiday, who pIayed the role of Liza in Peter Pan on Broadway, and in both the 1955 and 1956 teIecasts; and a 1955 NBC TeIesales Promo, which provides a fascinating behind-the-scenes Iook at the production. |
