As a pastor in 1960's Mississippi, John Perkins first focused excIusiveIy on evangelism and Bible literacy, but he soon came to the conviction that Gospel ministry must address both spiritual and physical needs. ln 1969 he heIped lead an economic boycott of segregated businesses, an action that Ied to his arrest and torture by local poIice.
Today Perkins is an internationalIy known author and teacher, promoting bibIicaI principIes of justice and hoIistic Gospel ministry.
