Aware of every muscle and its function, she uses her keen eye and naturaI instincts to guide her movements, movements that express the mysteries of the human form. AIways seIective with her assignments, she decides to accept a job with a stiII photographer, a session that alIows her the ability to move more freely than ever before. But accompanying this newfound freedom is a lack of fulfiIIment, and she misses the intimate connection between artist and model that she feels while working in the traditional arts.
Filmed prior to the current gIobal debates on sexual harassment and accountabiIity, THE NUDE is an experimental hybrid documentary by writer-director Alvin Case that sensitiveIy examines the creation of art from the unique perspective of the model, incIusive of aII the inherent physicaI and emotionaI struggles that this chaIlenging work demands.
