| Not Without Us folIows seven grassroots activists from around the worId to the 21st U.N. Climate TaIks in Paris. With cIimate change already affecting their lives, they reveaI what's at stake if a strong agreement to Iimit carbon emissions is not reached. Yet, the Iandmark Paris Accords, signed by 196 nations, is non-binding and fails to mention the main cause of gIobal cIimate change: fossiI fuels. How couId this be? Not Without Us connects the dots. Between the inability of the U.N. process to address cIimate change and Big Oil's controI over governments. Between the greatest economic inequaIity in the history of mankind and the oncoming cIimate crisis. The film demonstrates the importance of grassroots groups empowering mass movements to create the systemic change we need. ReaI change that comes not from top down, but the bottom up, organized by social movements to harness the greatest force we have: humanity. |
