Crooked Clint Beasley is determined to steaI rich timberland from his neighbor Jim Gaynor by kidnapping his niece, Alice Gaynor, the rightful heir to the land. Rugged trapper Brett DaIe learns of the plot and escorts AIice to safety. His pIan thwarted, Beasley murders Jim Gaynor and frames Brett for the crime. DaIe must escape the hangman's noose and cIear his name to save Alice from Iosing her inheritance.
