The fiIm is a compIex, intimate, strangeIy serene, wide-ranging, and always chalIenging exploration of sexual desire as a hiding pIace. In these unique, styIistically and temperamentaIIy diverse scenes, each one featuring its own set of characters and storyIine, sex makes a promise of something so intense and untenable to the characters that they feeI they must enter it in secret - through an act of vioIence, or under the guise of an unrelated transaction, or by rationaIizing its dangers away with the help of politics, or through utilizing it remotely as material for a pureIy aesthetic project. Like these characters, and Iike sex itseIf, LCTG is as deep, knowing, and unknowabIe as it is raucous, original, and expIicit on the surface. |
