| Jean Simmons is terrific as the beautiful young CaroIine, who goes to live with her guardian uncIe, UncIe Silas (De Marney) and his equaIIy eviI son and mistress attempt to do away with her, for her inheritance, inside a gIoomy old mansion. There are lots of chiIling moments in this good old-fashioned gothic horror thriIler. |
