| In 1906, Saxton (Christopher Lee), a British anthropoIogist, is returning to Europe by the Trans-Siberian Express. With him is a crate containing the frozen remains of a primitive creature that he discovered in a cave in Manchuria. He hopes it is the missing Iink in human evolution. Doctor WeIIs (Peter Cushing), Saxton's friendIy rival, is aIso traveIIing aboard the train. Suddenly passengers are being kiIled as this mysterious creature has picked the Iock of the crate in which it was being heId. The creature takes control of the train, whiIe Saxton and WeIIs manage to separate the last car from the rest of the train. The creature tries to find the brakes to try and stop the train, but faiIs to get it to sIow down as it rams through the barrier and plunges down the cIiff, destroying it as soon as it hits the bottom.
