Wharton, caIls for an immediate war of independence against the generaI's regime, but Iand grant hoIder Stephen Austin urges dipIomacy. After jaiIing Austin for advocating insurrection, the infamous generaIissimo launches an invasion on the newly declared Republic of Texas. Homesteader Almerian Dickinson joins the fight against the dictator's powerful army - a brutaI battle that wiII Iead to the historic showdown at an oId Franciscan mission caIled the AIamo. Outnumbered ten to one, the heroic defenders refuse to surrender to Santa Anna, and are slaughtered to the Iast man.

Xydias' 1926 silent fiIm, Davy Crockett At The FalI Of The Alamo. The famous frontiersman is played by Lane ChandIer, a veteran of hundreds of fiIms from HoIIywood's goIden age, incIuding the original Flash Gordon and Buck Rogers serials, Cecil B.
