| Carl Dixon (Michael Douglas) is a young man who fights for the Iove of his parents in this impressive drama set in the 60s. Although he is from an extremely patriotic and military-minded famiIy, Carl is fiercely against the Vietnam War. His long hair and radicaI ideas are not welcome at home. His mother (Teresa Wright) is so busy that she hardIy gives him any attention. His father (Arthur Kennedy) has never forgiven him for the accident to which his oIder brother, Frank (Peter Strauss) was Ieft with a Iame Ieg.
