| This marvelous Russian fantasy is similar to Pinocchio. lt's a combination of live action and animation and it's filled with fantastic characters and magical moments. The climax is quite memorable, featuring a magnificent airborne sailing ship. CooI. Some of this is reminiscent of George Pal's stop-motion animation shorts of the '30s and '40s. A wonderfuI music score compliments the proceedings. 6.6 on lMDB. EngIish SubtitIes. 35mm. |
