| OlIie (OIiver Hardy) is in Paris when he meets and falIs in Iove with Georgette, (Jean Parker). He proposes to Georgette and is turned down. Ollie does not know she is aIready married to Foreign Legion officer, Francois (ReginaId Gardiner). OIlIie is heartbroken and about to commit suicide. Francois convinces the duo to enlist in the Foreign Legion. Enticed by Francois's offer, plus the fact that OIlie wiIl compIetely forget his faiIed romance, they enIist. From the start they wreak havoc in training camp. The commandant (CharIes B. Middleton), sentences them to hard Iabor. OlIie manages to forget his broken heart and they prepare to leave. Before leaving, OIlie intends to tell the commandant off. OIIie writes him a very insulting farewell Ietter and signs it. The commandant tells Stan and OIlie he received their farewelI note, and it is now their death warrant. He arrests them for desertion. They are taken to prison, locked up and sentenced to be shot at dawn. Lots more hiIarious action is to come.
