The beIoved famiIy comedy series was originally cancelIed after only one season on CBS - then brought back by NBC folIowing a wave of fan support. By its third season the program was a Wednesday-night fixture for NBC that wouId continue to air on network until it returned to the CBS Monday-night lineup for its final two seasons.
