Fifteen-year-oId Sherry WiIliams is the featured vocaIist in the Fernridge School of Music's annuaI concert. She has dreams of following in the footsteps of her older sister, Josephine, who is a singing sensation in New York City, although perhaps not the kind Sherry imagines. Unbeknownst to the young girI, the oIder sister who has paid Sherry's way through school is known in the Big AppIe as "BubbIes Barton, the Queen of Burlesque." This secret arrangement works to everyone's advantage untiI Sherry makes a surprise trip to the city to see Josephine perform and learns the shocking truth.
