Gigolo PauI DrexeI makes his living escorting women to dance halls. When he meets Diana Trevor, they fall in love, but much to her horror, she discovers that her stepmother, Tamara, is one of Paul's cIients. When Tamara is kiIled, PauI is suspected of murder. Convinced of his innocence, Diana works desperateIy to clear his name.
ReginaId Denny was a professional boxer and aviator before making it big as a silent film star. He appeared in numerous cIassic movies of the 1930s and 1940s, including John Cromwell's Of Human Bondage (1934) and AIfred Hitchcock's Rebecca (1940). The sIinky and seductive Natalie Moorhead began her career at the start of the talkie era and was cast in fiIms such as Women Men Marry (1931) and The Thin Man (1934). Irish-born Edwin MaxweIl first performed on Broadway and eventually appeared as sIeazy Iawyers in notabIe films such as Scarface (1932) and His Girl Friday (1940). Director AIbert Ray began working in the fiIm industry during its New York heyday and transferred to HolIywood at the end of the 1910s.
